About the player
Enzo Mongo is a product of the Nantes academy, where his rise has followed a clear line: club captain at under-16 level, then captain again at under-19 level, culminating in the 2022–23 Championnat National U19 title, sealed with a 2–1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in which he played the full 90 minutes.
He stepped up to Nantes B in the 2022–23 season, and by February 2024 had made his first-team debut in Ligue 1, coming off the bench against Toulouse. Four months later, in June 2024, he signed his first professional contract, tying him to the club until 2027.
His minutes at senior level have remained limited: a single Ligue 1 appearance in 2023–24 alongside five outings for Nantes B in Championnat National 2. In 2024–25, with the reserve side dropping to Championnat National 3, he featured nine times and scored once.
Born in Sarcelles and of Congolese descent, Mongo joined Nantes from AAS Sarcelles in 2020. He has also had a taste of international football, taking part in a training camp with France's under-16 side in October 2020 under coach José Alcocer.
