Facundo Torres

Facundo Torres joined Peñarol's academy at ten, having started out at the local clubs Juventud River de La Paz and La Paz Wanderers. He made his first-team debut for the club in August 2020, and by 2021 he was champion of Uruguay and had been named to the season's symbolic best XI.

He moved to Orlando City in a deal worth around $9-10 million. He won the US Open Cup with the club in 2022, and in 2024 he finished as Orlando's top scorer and top assist provider with 20 goals and 9 assists.

In December 2024, Palmeiras signed him in a deal reported at up to $14 million including add-ons. He spent the 2025 season in Brazil, scoring 10 goals and setting up 6 more across 61 appearances in all competitions.

Austin announced his signing from Palmeiras on 16 January 2026, paying a fee of $9.5 million and handing him Designated Player status on a four-and-a-half-year contract, with a club option covering the 2030/31 MLS season. He wears the number 11 shirt.

Torres has 23 caps and 2 goals for Uruguay. He was part of the squad at the 2021 Copa América, where he played five matches, and was included in Uruguay's squad for the 2022 World Cup, though he did not feature during the tournament.
