About the player
Sarıyer is not new ground for Fethi Özer. He first arrived on loan in 2016, a Göztepe teenager sent out to find matches, and returned in July 2025 on another loan.
He joined Göztepe's academy in 2006 and signed his first professional contract there in 2013, but the years that followed were spent almost entirely elsewhere. Tire 1922, Sarıyer and Hacettepe each took him for a season between 2015 and 2018, and it was only after his move to Fethiyespor in August 2018 that he settled into a single shirt for a full year.
Boluspor gave him the standing he had been working towards. He arrived in July 2019, became a regular and then captain, and although he transferred to Eyüpspor in July 2022, he returned to Bolu on loan for the 2024–25 season and helped the side reach the 1. Lig play-off semi-finals.
That same 2024–25 campaign brought him a title with Sarıyer, who won the Nesine 2. Lig Beyaz Group and went up to the 1. Lig.
Turkey capped him at three youth levels: eight appearances for the under-18s, four for the under-19s with a goal, and one at under-21. The senior call has not come.
His contract with Eyüpspor expired in the summer of 2025, and in August he joined Kayserispor on a free transfer.
