About the player
Gian was born in Asunción and made his start in professional football with Libertad before moving on to Guaraní and then Olimpia, working his way through three of Paraguay's established clubs as a young forward.
The most distinctive turn of his career took him to Ukraine, where he spent three consecutive seasons: first at Volyn Lutsk, then Karpaty Lviv, and finally Zorya Luhansk. Few Paraguayan forwards of his generation built a run of seasons so firmly rooted in eastern European football, moving from one club to the next without a break in the league.
He returned to South American football with Nacional, a spell that closed out that chapter of his career before a fresh move in 2021 took him to Oriente Petrolero. From there his path led him to Independiente Petrolero, where he continues his career as a forward.
