About the player
Bushchan spent almost his entire senior career at one club. He stayed at Dynamo Kyiv until 2025. With Dynamo he won the Ukrainian league twice, the domestic cup twice and the Super Cup three times.
He made his debut for Ukraine in October 2020 against France, a match Ukraine lost 7-1, but got his first win days later against Spain, keeping a clean sheet on the way to a 1-0 result. That form carried him into the squad for Euro 2020, where he played all five of Ukraine's matches as the team reached the quarter-final.
Injuries have interrupted him more than once. A fractured fibula on a training camp in Spain kept him out in 2018, and a torn meniscus suffered against Fenerbahçe in the Europa League in 2022 required surgery in Barcelona.
His move away from Dynamo, when it finally came in January 2025, took him to Saudi Arabia and Al-Shabab in Riyadh on a full transfer worth €3 million.
