Israel Reyes Romero

Israel Reyes Romero came through Atlas's academy before breaking into the first team in 2019. He spent two seasons as a first-team player at Atlas before Puebla took him on loan in the summer of 2020, a move that became permanent the following year.

At Puebla, Reyes settled into a run of regular football across the back line, and in March 2022 he opened his account with his first senior goal for the club. That spell in Puebla proved to be the platform for a bigger move: in December 2022, Club América signed him, and the club handed him a contract running through to 2028.

Reyes has since been used across the defensive line at América, capable of playing as a right back, inside at centre back, or dropping into a holding midfield role when needed.

His progress at club level has carried over to international recognition, with call-ups to the Mexico national team. He joined América as a 22-year-old with only one senior goal to his name and a growing reputation as a defender comfortable in more than one position.
