Jordy Josué Caicedo Medina

The season at PFC CSKA Sofia remains the most decorated of Jordy Caicedo's career. He arrived in Bulgaria in February 2021 on a free transfer, won the Bulgarian Cup in the 2020–21 season and was named the Best Foreign Player in Bulgarian Football that year. In July 2022 Tigres UANL paid around €2.5 million for him.

Tigres sent him to Sivasspor for the 2022–23 season, where he scored three goals in 14 appearances, and then to Atlas, who exercised their purchase option in mid-2024 and made the move permanent. Within weeks he was on loan again, to Real Sporting de Gijón. That arrangement was cut short in January 2026, when the loan was terminated and Caicedo joined Huracán for a year, with an option to buy 80% of his rights for $1.1 million.

The earlier route was straightforward enough. He came through C.S. Norte América and then Universidad Católica, where he made 54 appearances and scored five league goals between 2015 and 2018. A 2019 loan at El Nacional brought seven goals in 13 games and led to a free transfer to Vitória, where he scored seven in 42 over two seasons.

He was handed his Ecuador debut on 4 June 2021, against Brazil in a 2022 World Cup qualifier. Of his four international goals, the first came from the penalty spot against Paraguay in March 2022, followed by strikes against Cape Verde, Bolivia and, in June 2026, Guatemala. He was named in the squads for the 2021 and 2024 Copa América and for the 2026 World Cup, where he wore number 16.
