Jackson Gabriel Porozo Vernaza

He made a single appearance for Manta in 2017. Santos signed him from Ecuador for €350,000 in 2018.

It was in Portugal that Porozo built a career. Boavista gave him a run in the Primeira Liga, 35 appearances that were enough to persuade Troyes to pay €3.5 million for 90% of his rights in the summer of 2022, tying him to a contract through 2027. The move to France was followed by a string of loans — Olympiacos in Greece, Kasımpaşa in Turkey, then Leganés in Spain, where his involvement was limited to two Copa del Rey outings.

A loan to Club Tijuana in January 2025 turned out to be the fit that stuck. The Mexican club made the deal permanent in January 2026.

At international level, Porozo has been part of Ecuador's set-up since making his senior debut against Bolivia in September 2019, a game Ecuador won 3-0. He has gone on to earn caps at the 2022 World Cup, featuring against Senegal and the Netherlands, and at the 2024 Copa América, later adding an appearance against Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup. His first international goal came against Saudi Arabia. Before all that, he was part of the Ecuador squad that won the South American U-20 Championship in 2019, a tournament in which he was named to the team of the competition.
