About the player
Jarzinho Malanga's route to Stuttgart's first team ran through his home city's clubs before it went anywhere else. Born in Mannheim, he started out at Phönix Mannheim, moved to Waldhof Mannheim, spent two years in Hoffenheim's academy, then returned to Waldhof before joining Stuttgart's youth setup in 2022. He signed his first professional contract with the club on 8 May 2024.
The breakthrough season that followed mixed first-team involvement with heavy use in the reserves: a single Bundesliga appearance for the senior side came alongside 30 outings and two goals for VfB Stuttgart II in the 3. Liga. That squad also won the DFB-Pokal in 2024–25, giving Malanga a winner's medal from his debut campaign among the professionals. In July 2025 he was loaned to SV Elversberg in the 2. Bundesliga, while remaining registered with Stuttgart for the following season, a move aimed at giving him regular senior football.
Internationally, Malanga has been a fixture of Germany's youth sides, moving up through the U17, U18 and U19 age groups and collecting 30 caps in total. The high point came with the U17s, with whom he won the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in 2023.
