About the player
Long before the Faroe Islands entered his career, Jean Carlos scored for Brazil at the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand in 2015.
He came up through Goiás's youth ranks before dropping into Brazil's lower tiers with Novo Horizonte/Formosa, CRAC and Paysandu, then Atlético Tubarão, from where a loan took him to Sport Recife. In 2019 he moved to Sweden and signed for Hammarby. Loans took him to IK Frej and Finland's TPS Turku, before spells with Varbergs and IFK Norrköping, interrupted by a loan to Denmark's AC Horsens. He left Norrköping as a free agent at the end of 2023 and spent 2024 at Sweden's Tvaakers before heading back to Brazil for a year at XV de Piracicaba and then Guarany de Bagé.
In March 2026 he signed for KÍ Klaksvík as a free agent. He has also featured in the Europa League qualifiers and the Faroe Islands Cup.
