Johann Berger

Johann Berger's path to Havelse ran through four clubs in eight years, each move a free transfer rather than a fee. He came up through Hansa Rostock's youth system before making four senior appearances for the club in the 3. Liga, alongside 26 outings for the reserve side.

The move that reshaped his career came in 2021, when he joined Rostocker FC. Over two seasons he scored 12 goals in 58 appearances. Phönix Lübeck picked him up in 2023, and it was there that Berger's profile grew furthest: he was made captain, went on to make 66 appearances and scored 16 goals across two seasons wearing the armband.

That spell as captain ended with another free transfer, this time to TSV Havelse in June 2025, a move that followed him leading Phönix Lübeck rather than simply leaving it. He arrives as a right-footed midfielder still without a senior cap for Germany at any level.

Berger's numbers tell of a player who found his scoring touch relatively late, after four low-key years split between Rostock and Kiel. Whether that goal contribution travels with him to a new dressing room, and a new level of competition, is the question Havelse's supporters will be watching answered over the coming season.
