About the player
The goal that took NEC Nijmegen back to the Eredivisie in 2021 was Okita's. He scored the winner in the promotion playoff final against NAC Breda, in a first season at the club that also brought him 15 goals and 13 assists. Nijmegen had signed him from MVV Maastricht in August 2018 on a four-year deal, and he stayed until it ran out.
Okita grew up in Germany and came into senior football at Royale Union Tubize-Braine, where he made his debut in 2013.
He left Nijmegen on a free transfer in June 2022 and joined FC Zurich . His best spell there came early in the 2023–24 Swiss Super League season, when five goals in seven matches put him top of the scoring charts in September.
Zurich gave way to Bodrum FK in January 2025, again on a free transfer, with a contract to June 2027. In February 2026 he moved on loan to Damac for the remainder of the season.
Born in Germany and a German citizen, Okita plays for DR Congo . His debut came in October 2021, a 2022 World Cup qualifier away to Madagascar that ended 1–0 to the hosts.
