Josh Cohen

Cohen started out well away from MLS's main stage, appearing for Burlingame Dragons FC, Orange County Blues FC and Phoenix Rising FC before Sacramento Republic FC gave him a settled run in goal, where he made 51 appearances across two seasons. In September 2017 he was named USL Player of the Month, and in 2018 he was named to the league's second All-League team and was a finalist for USL Goalkeeper of the Year.

The bigger breakthrough came abroad. In 2019 Cohen signed for Maccabi Haifa in Israel, and what followed was the most decorated spell of his career. He won the Israeli championship three times in a row, in 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23, added the Israeli Cup and Israeli Super Cup, and was named Israeli Footballer of the Year and the league's best player in the 2020/21 season. In 2021, during his time in the country, he took Israeli citizenship.

Cohen returned to MLS with Atlanta United, though first-team opportunities there were limited to three appearances, with most of his football coming for the club's reserve side, Atlanta United 2, where he played seven matches. He joined Chicago Fire on 31 December 2025 as a free agent, on a contract running through June 2027 with a club option for an additional year.
