Josué Reina

The paperwork has never quite settled on a single name for him. He turns up on team sheets and in databases as Josué Reina, elsewhere as Josué Reinatti, and in full as Josué Jerónimo Reinatti Balansino. All three point to the same goalkeeper on the books at Newell's Old Boys.

He comes from Las Rosas, a town in the province of Santa Fe, and the football that shaped him was all done at the other end of that province, in Rosario. Newell's Old Boys is the only club on his record. He came through the academy there and moved up through the club's own structure into the senior set-up, without a spell at another youth side and without a loan away to fill in the gaps.

He is right-footed, which shows in how the club uses him for distribution. Beyond that, the ledger is close to empty: no transfer has taken him anywhere else, no fee has been recorded against his name, and no call-up to Argentina at any age group has come. There are no titles and no individual awards next to him either.

That leaves a career still waiting for the detail that fills a profile — the minutes, the clean sheets, the run of matches that turns an academy graduate into a first choice.
