About the player
Karol Borys returned to Śląsk Wrocław. He had started there as a boy, joining the academy in 2013 after coming through Czarni Otmuchów, and in May 2022, aged 15, he made his professional debut against Górnik Zabrze in the Ekstraklasa, becoming the youngest player in the club's history to appear in the top flight.
In February 2024, Belgian side KVC Westerlo paid €2 million for him.
He made 34 appearances at NK Maribor across two campaigns, split between the league, the cup and continental competition, and scored twice. A metatarsal fracture in January 2025 cut his first Maribor season short. In September 2026, Borys went back to Śląsk Wrocław on a free transfer, signing a contract to 2029 and taking the number 18 shirt.
He scored five goals in eight caps for the under-16s and three in 19 for the under-17s, and was part of the Poland squad that won bronze at the 2023 European Under-17 Championship in Hungary, scoring against Ireland, Hungary and Germany during that run; he also played at the under-17 World Cup that year. He made his under-21 debut in June 2024 against North Macedonia, scoring on that occasion.
