About the player
Kiyani Zeggen made his senior debut on 12 January 2024, in a 1-1 Eerste Divisie draw with Telstar.
The debut season brought only three appearances and five goals conceded, and 2024/25 turned into a season on the bench: Zeggen stayed second-choice goalkeeper at Jong AZ and did not feature in the Eerste Divisie, instead continuing with the youth side in the UEFA Youth League. He has yet to appear for AZ's first team.
He was capped twice for the Netherlands Under-16s in 2022, then became a first-choice goalkeeper at Under-17 level, playing ten matches including all three group games at the 2023 European Championship, where he conceded seven goals. A single friendly followed for the Under-18s in 2023, then one appearance for the Under-19s in 2024. He was part of the Dutch squad that won the 2025 Under-19 European Championship, though he did not play a minute of the tournament, watching every match from the bench.
He signed his first professional contract with the club on 20 February 2024, running to the middle of 2026, and extended it on 15 December 2025 to run until the middle of 2030. Terms of neither deal were disclosed. Zeggen plays left-footed.
