Lucas Javier Núñez Núñez

Deportivo Maldonado has never had to look outside its own academy to find a player — Lucas Núñez came through the youth ranks and has stayed with the club ever since, without a single move away. He made his professional debut on 21 November 2020, in a 2-1 win over River Plate Montevideo in the Primera División, and never left the first team afterwards.

For his first two seasons he wore the number 32 shirt. Since 2023 he has played under number 5.

Across his career at the club he has made 149 appearances and scored three goals. In the current Apertura campaign he has featured in nine matches, all as a starter, though limited to 205 minutes on the pitch, and has yet to register a goal or an assist this season.
