About the player
Lazar Boyanov's path to Bulgarian football ran through Portugal first. He came up through the youth ranks at Nacional da Madeira before moving on to Marinhense and CF Esperança Lagos, gaining his early experience far from home before returning to Bulgaria.
Back on home soil, the defender joined Pirin Blagoevgrad during a winter transfer window. He now wears the number 88 shirt.
Boyanov has represented Bulgaria at under-21 level but has yet to feature for the senior national side.
