Loris Giandomenico

Loris Giandomenico came through Grasshopper Club Zürich's academy, joining the youth setup at under-9 level. His path away from Zürich included spells at FC Winterthur's under-16 side and at FC Basel before he returned to Grasshopper in the summer of 2022 and was drawn into the club's first-team environment that February. He signed his first professional contract in November 2023, and by July 2025 the club had extended it through to 2028.

His route to the senior side ran through the under-21 team, where he played 14 matches in the 2024/25 season before he was handed a debut in a promotion playoff against Aarau. From there he established himself quickly: in the 2025/26 season he made 14 appearances in the Swiss Super League for Grasshopper's first team.

That progress was interrupted by a loan away from the club. In January 2026 he moved to FC Rapperswil-Jona in the Challenge League, and made seven appearances there before a further loan took him to Germany. From September 2026 he has been with SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the 2. Bundesliga, a move that includes an option to buy.

Giandomenico has also featured for Switzerland at youth international level, with two caps for the under-17s in 2022 and four further appearances for the under-20 side, three of them coming in the Elite League during the 2025/26 season.
