About the player
Mohamed Fofana made his name on the continental stage as a teenager. In April 2025 he scored against Zambia's under-17s at the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, and he was a key member of the Burkina Faso youth squad. The same year he took part in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
At club level he began with New Stars FC in Burkina Faso, where he played from July 2024 to June 2025. From there he moved to the United Arab Emirates and United Football Club II.
His next step took him to Europe. The central midfielder came into a Virsliga season already under way and has been used in the league and the cup.
He has made four league appearances for the club so far. He has not scored, but he has set up one goal and has been shown one yellow card. He has also played once in the Latvian Cup.
Auda have another player with a similar surname, the Ivorian winger Mohamoud Fofana. Mohamed is the Burkinabé midfielder who came through the national youth ranks.
