Auda

Auda sit in the Virslīga as the club with the odd record: two Latvian Cups in the last four seasons but nothing higher than third place in the league, managed in both 2023 and 2024. This year added a Supercup final, lost 1-4 to Riga FC, which is roughly where the gap between cup form and league form still sits.

The club has gone through three names since it was formed in 1969 at the "9 Maija" fishing kolkhoz in the Riga district. It became Auda in 1990, when the kolkhoz was reorganised into a fishing enterprise of the same name, spent 1992 to 1994 as RFK, then reverted. The move out of Riga came in 2005, to Kekava, where the club built its own ground for 520 spectators. Since Auda returned to the Virslīga in 2022, most home matches have instead been played at the Skonto Stadium in Riga, which holds up to 6,747.

Roberts Ozols has been in goal for both Cup wins — the 1-0 final defeat of RFS in 2022, and the repeat in 2025 — by which point he had also become Latvia's national team captain. Jurģis Kalns took a longer route through the club: a forward by trade, he first managed Auda between 2014 and 2017 and returned to the job again in 2025. RFS and Riga FC remain the two clubs Auda are judged against, though no fixture between them has ever been given a derby name of its own.
