Riga FC

Riga FC has won the Latvian championship four times — in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2025 — and added the Latvian Cup twice, in 2018 and 2023. A penalty shootout against RFS brought the Latvian Super Cup in 2024; a 4-1 win over Auda repeated that in 2026.

None of that history reaches back before the club's own founding. Riga FC was formed in 2014 out of a merger between two Riga sides then playing in the Second League, FC Caramba and Dinamo Rīga, and carries no legal link to the city's older clubs, FK Rīga or Skonto. The merged side won the First League in 2015 under the Caramba/Dinamo name, reached the Virslīga, and took the Riga FC name the following year.

Home matches are played at the Skonto Stadium, where Virslīga rules cap attendance at 6,747, well short of the venue's full capacity. The team plays in white and sky blue.

Ownership sits with Sergejs Lomakins, a Russian businessman who also holds Pafos FC in Cyprus and Rodina Moscow. Latvia placed him on a persona non grata list in 2020; he has kept control of the club since through the Baltic Sport Group structure.

The fiercest fixture is against RFS, the best-attended club match in the country, with Auda a newer name in that city rivalry. Antonijs Černomordijs has made more than 250 appearances, more than anyone else in the club's history, and captains the side; João Grimaldo was named the league's Player of the Month last September.

In Europe, Riga FC has beaten Copenhagen in a Europa League qualifier and Sparta Prague in the Conference League, though both ties were lost overall. This summer's Champions League qualifying run ended in a 4-3 aggregate defeat to Ararat-Armenia; moved into the Conference League path, Riga FC beat Vardar 5-2.
