Ahmed Ankrah

Ahmed Ankrah spent his formative years in Italy, not Ghana. In 2020 he joined Parma's youth setup, and by the time he left he was wearing the captain's armband for the club's academy side. From there his path ran through Slovenia rather than back home or into Serie A: a move to ND Gorica in 2022, then on to FC Koper, where he continued to develop as a defensive midfielder.

Riga FC signed him in August 2024, handing him a three-year contract and the number 40 shirt. It marked his first move to the Baltics and a step into a league. Across his time in Latvia he has made 25 appearances, totalling close to 2,000 minutes on the pitch.

His clearest mark on a match came in Europe. In continental competition he scored against Armenian side Ararat-Armenia, his only goal for the club to date; domestically, in the Latvian league and cup, he has yet to find the net. Discipline has been modest, with four yellow cards accumulated in Riga colours. The high point of his time at the club arrived in 2025, when Riga FC won the Virslīga title, with Ankrah part of the squad that took the championship.

Internationally, his experience so far has come at youth level with Italy rather than with Ghana. He holds Italian citizenship alongside his Ghanaian roots, but a senior cap for either national team has not yet come.
