Marcos Ezequiel Portillo

In September 2024, while sidelined with a knee ligament injury, Marcos Portillo put an Instagram post out attacking referee Yael Falcone Perez. The match in question — Talleres against Rosario Central — had seen two disputed penalties given against his side. Portillo did not play in it.

He came to Córdoba in January 2024, when Talleres bought his economic rights from Newell's Old Boys. The fee was not disclosed. Portillo said he picked the club because it was "a club to grow at". He is a Rosario man: his first football was at Tiro Federal, then a spell at Union de Alvarez in 2015, and from later that year the Newell's youth system, where he stayed until he broke into the senior side in 2021.

The move paid off quickly in one respect. On 30 January 2024, in what was his first goal for Talleres, he scored in a 2-1 win over Huracán. He added a second in the Primera División that season and set up three more, playing ten matches, nine of them from the start. He also scored in the Copa Argentina against Agropecuario.

The medals came with the club rather than through him: Talleres won the Supercopa Internacional in 2023/24 with Portillo in the squad, and he was part of the side that played in the 2025 Copa Libertadores. No individual awards are on his record, and no call-ups to Argentina at any level.

By November 2025 he had 23 appearances and three goals for Talleres. The 2025/26 season brought four matches, two of them starts, before he left on loan to Platense.
