Mamadou Jobe

Mamadou Jobe came through the Cambridge United academy and made his first senior appearance for the club on 31 August 2021, in an EFL Trophy tie against Oxford United. Rather than push straight into the first-team picture, the club sent him out on a string of loans to gather minutes: St Neots Town, Concord Rangers, St Albans City, Maidstone United and, finally, Gateshead, where he scored his first goal for the club in a 4-2 away win at Wealdstone on 17 February 2024.

Across those spells a pattern in his game emerged. Jobe is physical and athletic, strong in aerial duels, though his close control has been described as technically awkward.

That progress was halted in July 2024, when he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament during pre-season conditioning. The following month he agreed a three-year contract with Stockport County, switching from the number 23 he had worn at Cambridge United to the number 25 shirt. In total, he has made 111 league appearances and scored eight goals across his career to date. He has not been capped at senior level by either England or Gambia.
