About the player
Marcus McCoy's route to Odense's first team ran through the club's own academy, where he arrived at Under-10 level in 2015 after starting out at Højby S&G. Nearly a decade of development followed before the club rewarded him with a first professional contract in April 2024, initially on a four-year deal.
His first taste of senior football came in the Danish Cup, where he made his debut against Tune IF in a match Odense won 5-0. The step up to league football took longer to arrive: McCoy did not play his first 1st Division match until 3 March 2025, in a 1-1 draw away to Hobro IK.
By May 2026 he had made 42 appearances for Odense, scoring twice from right-back. McCoy put pen to paper on a new contract running until June 2030.
He wears the number 15 shirt at Odense, having joined its youth setup as a ten-year-old.
