Nicolás Guillermo Fuica Collazzi

Nicolás Fuica came through the Deportivo Maldonado academy.

The first-team debut came almost two years later, on 2 October 2023, away to Boston River in the Uruguayan top flight. Maldonado lost 2-0, and Fuica's involvement that season stayed limited to two appearances. The following year brought more regular football: around ten to twelve league matches, no goals, but a single assist to his name, plus one outing in the Copa AUF.

In August 2025, Maldonado sent him out on loan to Cerro for the rest of the season. He started at Cerro on the right foot in terms of playing time, appearing in 13 matches, though without scoring or setting up a goal. His performance against Nacional that November earned praise in the press, with one outlet rating him 8 out of 10, though the club picked up no silverware during his spell there.

Fuica returned to Deportivo Maldonado once the loan expired at the start of 2026, and the centre-back role became his primary post for the rest of the campaign. By August 2026, he had featured in 16 league matches for his parent club and scored his first senior goal, adding a further appearance apiece for Maldonado and Cerro in the Copa AUF. He stands 193cm tall and plays with his right foot, attributes that have underpinned his development as a central defender since his academy days. He has not yet been called into any Uruguay national team set-up, at senior or youth level.
