About the player
The call from Serbia came in January 2017 and went no further than the squad list — named, but not used. Six years later Čančarević made an international debut anyway, in a different shirt. Naturalised as an Armenian citizen in 2023, he played his first match for Armenia against Wales on 16 June that year. By June 2026 he had 21 caps.
The route there began at Sloboda Užice, with a loan to Zlatibor Užice, and continued through Sloga Bajina Bašta and Sevojno. The first settled spell was at Radnički Kragujevac, where he stayed from 2009 to 2014 and won promotion to the Serbian SuperLiga in 2011. Single seasons at OFK Beograd and Mladost Lučani followed, then two years at Radnik Surdulica.
The move that reshaped his career was a free transfer to Alashkert in February 2018. He won the Armenian Premier League in that 2017–18 season and again in 2020–21, added the Armenian Cup in 2018–19 and the Armenian Supercup in 2021, and stayed nearly six years.
He left Alashkert in January 2024, again on a free, and joined Noah, the club founded in 2017 as FC Artsakh and rebranded two years later. There he won a second double: the Armenian Premier League and the Armenian Cup in 2024–25.
In January 2026 he moved once more without a fee, signing for IMT Novi Beograd.
