About the player
Twenty-one goals in the 2024–25 season gave Çağlayan a share of the TFF 1. Lig Golden Boot, and Kocaelispor the division title with it.
The Galatasaray years, from 2020 to 2024, were largely spent elsewhere. He arrived on a free transfer after terminating his contract at Çaykur Rizespor, then went out on loan three times: to Eyüpspor in the winter of 2022 for €100,000, to Giresunspor for the 2022–23 season on a €1.66m deal, and to Pendikspor the following winter. Galatasaray won the Süper Lig in 2022–23. Çağlayan, on loan, received no medal for it.
He was raised in the Altındağ district of Ankara and passed through Bahçelerüstü Spor, Ankaraspor and Bursa Merinosspor before joining Bursaspor, where he made his professional breakthrough. Galatasaray paid €350,000 in training compensation to take him to their A2 side in 2013. From there the route ran through Gaziantepspor, then Kayseri Erciyesspor for €365,000 with a loan season at Kayserispor, and on to Rizespor in 2016 for €1.2m. He stayed four years, interrupted by a loan at Gazişehir Gaziantep in 2018–19.
His international record sits entirely at youth level: nine goals in ten matches for Turkey's U-16 side, two in ten for the U-19s.
Since leaving Galatasaray he has moved often — Gaziantep FK, then Kasımpaşa in January 2024, then Kocaelispor that July. He signed for Çorum FK on 31 August 2025 and joined Van BB in January 2026. As of August 2026 he has been granted permission to hold transfer talks.
