About the player
Peter Urminský arrived at St. Mirren in January 2020 after a stint in the Slovak youth system. The 196 cm goalkeeper signed from Spartak Trnava to provide depth in the post.
His early career unfolded in Slovakia before moving to Scotland. After making his senior debut for Spartak Trnava in 2018, Urminský spent time on loan at AS Trenčín. He stepped up to make his first-team debut for St. Mirren in July 2022.
St. Mirren utilised his time away from the main squad through multiple loans. He gained experience at Ayr United in 2021, followed by a spell at Stenhousemuir. Most recently, he joined Glentoran on loan in 2025.
The Slovak international has represented his country at under-19 level, earning one cap. He has not yet featured for the senior side. Behind established keepers like Vaclav Hladky and Dean Lyness, Urminský waited for his chance. By May 2023, he had made only one league appearance for the club.
The goalkeeper’s journey reflects patience and persistence. His future at St. Mirren depends on consistency and opportunity.
