About the player
Ricardinho broke through at Vilaverdense FC before Gil Vicente signed him in 2013. His time there brought spells with the youth side and eventually the first team.
The move that reshaped his career came in the summer of 2018, when he left Portugal as a free agent to join FC Voluntari in Romania. He went on to make 184 appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals and adding 10 assists from the back. He reached the final of the Cupa României with Voluntari.
When his contract at Voluntari ran out at the end of June 2024, he did not go far. On 19 June 2024 he signed a two-year deal with Petrolul Ploiești, again as a free agent, tying him to the club through 2026.
