About the player
Siyanda Mathenjwa came through South African football at Alexandra Aces, playing in the Second Division of Gauteng before leaving the country entirely for Georgia. That move, in January 2020, took him to Gori FC on a free transfer, and it began a run of short stints across the Georgian league. Within little more than two years he had also turned out for Merani Martvili and Dinamo Zugdidi before joining Spaeri in August 2022.
His path then took an unusual detour: in April 2024 he signed for Sokolany in Poland, again as a free agent, before returning to Georgia and to Spaeri on 25 January 2025, this time on a contract running to the end of 2026. That second spell gives him a settled base after several years of moving between clubs and leagues on short-term deals.
A right-footed player, Mathenjwa has been used both as a midfielder and at right-back. His frequent transfers, all completed as a free agent, point to a career built on adaptability.
