Sergio Ronaldo Vasquez Cabrera

Sergio Ronaldo Vasquez Cabrera came through Orense SC's academy from the age of 11. He got a taste of continental football early, turning out for Orense's under-20 side in the 2022 Copa Libertadores Sub-20, before making his senior debut the following year.

The breakthrough came gradually rather than in one moment. Vasquez Cabrera worked his way into a regular rotation, and by the 2025 Serie A campaign he was a fixture, appearing in 35 league matches. The next season confirmed the step up: 26 appearances in the regular phase, four goals and three assists. Across his time at the club he made 91 appearances in total, 76 of them starts, with five goals and seven assists to his name.

His stay at Orense ended this week. On 25 August 2026, Vasquez Cabrera signed for Los Angeles FC in MLS, with the deal structured so Orense retains 30 per cent of his economic rights and LAFC takes the remaining 70 per cent. The contract runs through the end of the 2030 season. It closes one chapter of his career and opens another far from Machala, where he was born and where his football education began.
