Simon Lorenz

Simon Lorenz came through Hoffenheim's youth system before making the step up to the Bundesliga club's senior side, where he appeared once in the Europa League. A move to VfL Bochum followed, interrupted by a loan spell at TSV 1860 München in the 3. Liga, where he made 37 appearances and scored three goals.

His time at Holstein Kiel brought the biggest stage of his career so far. Kiel reached the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal in 2020-21, before losing 5-0 to Borussia Dortmund on 1 May 2021, and Lorenz also featured once in the club's Bundesliga relegation play-off that season. Across three years at Kiel he made 68 appearances in the second and top flights, scoring three times.

Since 2023 he has played for FC Ingolstadt 04 in the 3. Liga, passing the century mark in appearances for the club and adding nine goals along the way. The club confirmed an extension of his contract through the 2025/26 season.

Earlier in his career, Lorenz was called up once to Germany's under-18 side, though he did not add a senior cap to his record. A right-footed defender standing at 191cm, he built his early football at TSV Sulzbach and SV Schefflenz before Hoffenheim brought him into their academy.
