About the player
In April 2021 Stefan Ranđelović saved two penalties from Red Star Belgrade players in the same match — first from Filip Falk, then from Mirko Ivanić. Only one goalkeeper had managed that before him: Milan Lukač, in 2014.
The penalty spot has given him most of his headlines. He was named Player of the Round in the Serbian SuperLiga twice in the 2022/23 season: in Round 23, after saving a penalty against Vojvodina in a draw, and in Round 27, after saving one against Partizan in a win. He is also the first goalkeeper in the SuperLiga to save a penalty taken by Bibras Natho.
The rest of his career has stayed close to home. Ranđelović came through the Radnik Surdulica youth academy, was licensed for the senior squad in the second half of the 2017/18 season and made his SuperLiga debut the following campaign. Two loans were meant to bring him matches and largely did not. The move to Mladost Bosilegrad in the Zone Jug, agreed in September 2018, was terminated around January 2019 without an official appearance. The second, to Topličanin in the Serbian League East in early 2020, brought two appearances before the season was suspended because of the pandemic.
He signed a contract extension in July 2019 and another in March 2022, the second initially running to 2025; current records put the end of his deal at 30 June 2026. In 2024/25 he was part of the Radnik squad that won the First League of Serbia and took the club up to the SuperLiga. Between those two dates came a local honour: in 2021 the municipality of Surdulica named him its Best Athlete of the year.
