About the player
New York City FC brought in Tomás Líam Romero Keubler in February 2024, signing the goalkeeper on a one-year deal with options through 2026.
Romero Keubler came up through the Philadelphia Union academy and, at 15 or 16, was handed the gloves for Bethlehem Steel FC in USL — making him the youngest goalkeeper to start a match in the league's history.
His path then ran through Los Angeles, where LAFC signed him in 2021 and gave him 18 starts.
Toronto FC picked him up through the MLS Re-Entry Draft in December 2021, and he stayed with the club through the end of the 2023 season before the move to New York. At NYCFC, he has also featured for the club's MLS Next Pro side, NYCFC II, keeping him in regular competitive minutes alongside his first-team role.
