Vytautas Gediminas Černiauskas

Panevėžys is where Vytautas Gediminas Černiauskas started and, after more than a decade abroad, where he ended up again. He came through the club's own youth ranks, stepped into the Ekranas first team in 2008, and within two seasons was part of a side that won the Lithuanian championship three years running and added a domestic cup.

That run of success took him abroad. A move to Romania's Vaslui in 2010 brought a runner-up finish in Liga I two seasons later, and after a spell at Korona Kielce in Poland he returned to Romania with Dinamo București. A short, unhappy stint at Cypriot side Ermis Aradippou in 2016 ended over a conflict with the club's director after just two appearances, and he went back to Dinamo as injury cover for their regular goalkeeper — a return that paid off with a League Cup win in 2016/17.

A four-year stretch at CSKA Sofia followed, including a run to the Bulgarian Cup final in 2019/20, before he signed for Latvia's RFS as a free agent in 2021. That season brought a league and cup double.

Since the start of 2023 he has been back at Panevėžys, the club where he began. He has made more than 100 appearances there and collected a domestic set to match his early years: the league title in 2023, the Lithuanian Super Cup in 2024 and the national cup in 2025.

Internationally, Černiauskas represented Lithuania at youth level, with caps for the under-17, under-19 and under-21 sides.
