Wei Shihao

Wei Shihao came through the academy at Shandong Luneng before moving to Portugal as a teenager, joining Boavista and later playing for Feirense and Leixões. A loan spell at Shanghai SIPG brought him back to Chinese football, and he settled at Beijing Guoan, where he won the Chinese FA Cup in 2018.

His move to Guangzhou Evergrande the following year turned into the most productive stretch of his career: 36 goals in 96 appearances, and a Chinese Super League title in 2019. He also featured for China at the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.

Internationally, Wei has built a reputation for delivering on the biggest occasions for the national team. On his debut at the 2017 EAFF E-1 Championship, he scored twice against South Korea and added another against North Korea in the same tournament. He has since scored against Uzbekistan, Singapore in a World Cup qualifier, and Curaçao at the 2026 FIFA Series, taking his tally to five goals in 45 caps.

After a season at Wuhan Three Towns, where he won the Chinese Super Cup in 2023, Wei signed for Chengdu Rongcheng in 2024. He has kept up his scoring output there, with 23 goals in 55 matches for the club so far. His market value peaked at €867,900 in September 2024, reflecting the consistency he has shown since leaving Guangzhou.
