Yani David Quintero Rivas

On the night of 12 November 2018, hours after Deportivo Cali's elimination from the play-offs, gunmen opened fire on the car carrying Juan Sebastián Quintero Fletcher and his brother. Six shots hit the vehicle. Quintero was unhurt, but the episode drew wide public attention in Colombia.

Quintero came through Deportivo Cali's academy and made his professional debut in December 2013, in a Copa Mustang match against Deportivo Pasto. He went on to make 85 appearances for the club without scoring, and won the 2015 Apertura title and the 2014 Colombian Super Cup.

A loan took him to Sporting Gijón in Spain, where he played six matches. In January 2019 he moved to Brazil's Fortaleza, making 96 appearances and scoring twice over several seasons, and won the Campeonato Cearense in 2019, 2020 and 2021, along with the Copa do Nordeste in 2019. Further loans took him to Juventude and then Vasco da Gama.

He returned to Colombia in 2023 with Deportivo Pereira, then joined Vila Nova in Brazil for the 2024 season. He rejoined Deportivo Cali at the end of that year, scoring once in 18 matches.

At youth level, Quintero played at the 2009 Under-17 World Cup in Nigeria and the 2015 South American Under-20 Championship, and was named in Colombia's squad for the 2016 Olympics. He has not featured for the senior national team.
