Zhen Ma

Ma Zhen arrived at Shanghai Shenhua in July 2020 as a free agent, joining a club whose squad he would go on to be part of during their 2023 CFA Cup triumph. Before that move, his path to goalkeeping had a curious detour: at Tianjin Quanjian, later renamed Tianjin Tianhai, he made just one senior appearance, and it came as a forward, fielded out of position under the league's U23 rules rather than between the posts. The club's dissolution in 2020 closed that chapter and sent him to Shanghai.

Born in Dalian, in China's Liaoning province, Ma Zhen began his senior career at Chengdu Qianbao before the switch to Tianjin. Both of his subsequent moves came without a transfer fee attached, first as a free signing at Shenhua, then in 2025 on loan to Yunnan Yukun, a spell that took him away from Shanghai after several years established at the club.

He represents China at international level, though the details of his senior involvement with the national side are not part of the record here. His time at Shenhua has coincided with the club's cup success, even if his own share of that campaign, whether he featured in the final itself, is not something that can be stated with certainty.
