Zhu Yue

Zhu Yue built his career inside Shanghai Shenhua's own academy, working through the youth ranks before making his senior debut for the club in 2020. Rather than settling into the first-team squad straight away, he spent the following years out on loan, testing himself at Cangzhou Mighty Lions, Suzhou Dongwu and Guangxi Pingguo before returning to Shenhua in 2025.

International recognition came early. Zhu was called up to China's U-23 side for the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, starting the match against Japan among his two appearances at that tournament. He also featured for China's youth teams at U-19 and U-21 level, giving him experience of representative football well before he had settled into a regular club role.

At club level, the loan spells have shaped his path more than any single breakthrough moment at Shenhua itself. Moving between Cangzhou, Suzhou and Guangxi in the space of two seasons gave him regular first-team football away from Shanghai, the kind of minutes that are harder to come by inside a bigger academy structure. His return to Shenhua in 2025, with his contract there running to the end of 2026, puts him back in competition for a place in a squad he left as a teenager.

He has yet to score for the national team at any level.
