About the player
Zoran Popović spent six years at Red Star Belgrade . He signed in 2018. Bojan stayed. Popović made 28 league appearances in six seasons, collected five Serbian titles and three Serbian Cups, and spent most of that time as the second choice.
The accident pushed him to give up basketball for football.
He came out of the Čukarički academy without a first-team appearance, then went on loan to Bratstvo Krnjača, Vršac and Palić. Voždovac became the constant: four separate spells, 78 matches in the last of them, and a place in the Serbian SuperLiga team of the season for 2016/17.
The 2026 Conference League qualifier against Braga went badly: his errors led to three penalties in a 4–0 defeat. He is right-footed, holds Serbian and Croatian citizenship, and has not played for either national team.
