Al Taee

It began in 1961 as Al-Ahli, took the name Al-Tai seven years later, and in the same year settled on the grey and white it still wears — before that the kit had been red and black, then yellow and red.

The trophies came from below the top flight rather than in it. Al-Tai won the Second Division in 1976–77, then the First Division three times, in 1984–85, 1994–95 and 2000–01. In between came the one piece of silverware that was not a promotion: the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Cup in 1993–94, a competition contested by clubs of the first and second divisions.

The closest the club has come to a major national prize was 1997, when it reached the Crown Prince Cup final and lost it.

Promotion returned in 2020–21, when a third-place finish in the First Division was enough to send Al-Tai back up.
