Anaitasuna

Anaitasuna's ceiling has been the same four times: Tercera División. The Azkoitia side won the Gipuzkoa regional league, the División de Honor Gipuzkoa, in 1993, 2001, 2012 and 2016. Each title brought promotion, and each time the club went straight back down the following season.

The club is older than any of those titles, dating from 1934, and its best result came before them. In 1973 it won the Campeonato de España de Aficionados, the national amateur cup, beating CP Cacereño 4–1 in the final.

Anaitasuna play in red shirts and blue shorts. Most people say Anai, but the club is also called Gorrixe, Basque for "the reds". Home is Campo Txerloia, which holds 1,500 and is a small ground even by regional standards.

The fixture that matters most each year is the Urola Kosta derby against Lagun Onak, from neighbouring Azpeitia.

The club has always put its own young players first. The club is part of the multi-sport society S.C.D.R. Anaitasuna. Each season the task is the same: keep the local youngsters coming through, and try to stay up if promotion comes again.
