Antequera

On 30 April 2023 Antequera CF were declared champions of Group 4 of the Segunda Federación, which carried automatic promotion to the Primera Federación — the third tier, and the level at which the club still plays.

Loren Burón, out of Barcelona's academy, left that winter for Real Murcia for €50,000.

In February 2024 the club was bought by Mike Garlick, the British businessman who previously owned Burnley. Ángel González has been president for more than a decade and remained in post.

The ground, Estadio Nuevo "El Maulí", holds 6,000.

Before all this the club had one earlier taste of the third tier: promotion through the play-offs in 2007/08, then a single season in Segunda B in 2008/09.
