Sport in Pyongyang runs through the army and the ministries, and April 25 is an institutional club. The women's football side sits inside that structure alongside a men's team. It has been fielding a women's XI since at least 2017, though the club's own founding year is not recorded in any source open to the outside.
Almost everything about the team is known from the outside in. The colours are red shirts with white shorts and socks. The men's side plays at Kim Il Sung Stadium, a 50,000-capacity ground on the northern edge of the capital.
The first stretch of verifiable competitive record arrived in 2026, when the club entered qualifying for the AFC Women's Champions League. It was drawn in Group D against College of Asian Scholars of Thailand, Kharaatsai of Mongolia and S'amuser of Timor-Leste.
