Axiopolis

Eighth place in Seria III of Liga III, Romania's third tier, is where the 2025/26 season finds the club from Cernavodă — when it won the Constanța county championship and the south-eastern regional phase of the Cupa României in the same 2022/23 campaign.

Its 721 seats make it one of the smallest grounds in the division. When a bigger crowd is expected, the club moves along to Stadionul Trust, which holds 5,000 — though only a hundred of them sitting down.

Petre Grigoraș took over at the start of 2022, a coach who had previously worked at Farul Constanța, Poli Iași, Oțelul Galați and Pandurii Tg. Jiu. Gheorghe Mina holds the job now.

The names on the shirt changed with almost every administrative decision taken above the club's head. Founded in 1927 as Mercur Cernavodă, it became Dunărea after the war, then Progresul, then Constructorul, then Ideal, then Dunărea again, and from 1976 Șoimii — the Hawks, the nickname that outlived the name. The historic Axiopolis came back in 2001.
