Bangkok Glass

Pathum Thani sits north of Bangkok, close enough that the capital's industry spills into it, and the football club there began as something a factory put together for its workers. The team carried the name of the Bangkok Glass Factory from 1979 onwards, though it took until April 2006 for the club to be registered formally.

The nickname came from the first president, Pavin Bhirombhakdi, born in a Year of the Rabbit under the Chinese zodiac. Blue and yellow, and the Rabbits.

Leo Stadium in Thanyaburi holds a little over 16,000, and the club moved between divisions in front of those crowds for years. The first real trophy arrived in 2010, and not in Thailand: the Rabbits went to Singapore and won the Singapore Cup. Four years later came the Thai FA Cup.

Then relegation, and the season that followed reshaped everything. Bangkok Glass won Thai League 2 in 2019 and went up. The title in the top flight came in the 2020–21 campaign, the club's first, and the Thai League Cup came in the same year. Two seasons in the AFC Champions League followed, in 2021 and 2022.

The Thailand Champions Cup has been won twice, in 2009 and again in 2024, a gap of 15 years that says most of what needs saying about how the club changed in between.

What the Rabbits are chasing now is a second league title.
