Kalyani Municipal Stadium holds 20,000. Rabindra Sarobar Stadium, closer in, takes the overflow.

The club came out of the Bhawanipore district itself, founded by Nani Mitra in 1910.

Then 1948. Robi Das became the first Bhawanipore footballer to play for India at an Olympic Games, in London. That same year the club reached the IFA Shield final and lost 2–1 to Mohun Bagan.

Certification from the AIFF arrived in 2012 and took the club into the I-League Second Division; the newspaper Sangbad Pratidin came in as premier sponsor, and the registered name became Sangbad Pratidin Bhawanipore Club. Third place followed in 2012–13. Twice, in 2013–14 and 2019–20, they reached the final qualifying round and finished second.

What the yellow shirts are measured against is the company they keep.
