Black Bulls Maputo

Matches against Clube Ferroviário da Matola and Clube Atlético Muçulmano da Matola carry more weight in Matola than any fixture on the Moçambola calendar, though neither meeting has settled into a name the way derbies elsewhere have. Black Bulls arrived late to that rivalry: the club took shape in 2017, moved through the Maputo City Championship the following year, then took the south group of the second division in 2019. Promotion to the Moçambola came in 2021, and the club won the title in that first top-flight season.

A second Moçambola crown followed in 2024, alongside the Taça de Moçambique the year before and Supertaça wins that have become close to routine. Geny Catamo came through the academy before his move to Sporting CP.

Ownership has stayed close to the club's transport-company roots under Transportes Lalgy, and in 2025 Brera Holdings PLC bought into that structure with a 50% stake.
